The times of Turin punk captured in famous shots

To tell the story of eight years of Turin punk, images and memorabilia are fine, but it is the music that moves souls, igniting memories and bringing places and protagonists back to life.

Here, as part of “Collezione di Attimi”, the photographic exhibition of punk 1983 – 1991, set up by the Sericraft silk-screen printing laboratory, in its spaces in the Docks Dora until May 13ththe appointment on Saturday afternoon acquires a particular meaning, which will make those years vibrate again. Saturday 11 at 6.30 pm, in via Valprato 68, the reissue will be presented to celebrate the 40 years of the split tape “Mucchio Selvaggio”, produced by Rocka Tapes Records and distributed by Goodfellas. To tell and remember that tape shared between the hardcore punk groups Declino and Negazione, some members of the two former bands and other protagonists of the Turin punk scene will intervene.

Negazione are also the driving force of the exhibition. Collezione di Attimi is, in fact, the title of the book that tells 10 years of history of the Turin band, created by Guido “Zazzo” Sassola and Roberto “Tax” Farano, together with the historic graphic designer DeeMo. With the exhibition curated by Michele “Barox” D’Alessio, second drummer of Negazione, and created in collaboration with Mario Frequently from Radio Bandito, and the support of Sergio Gambino from Colonna Sonora, the gaze broadens. Try to embrace an underground, niche, but no less minor, scene defined as Italian hardcore. A scene that in Turin and Piedmont was represented, as well as by Negazione and Declino, by bands such as Blue Vomit, Nerassociazione, Indigesti and others. Among the photographers who told that story, the shots of the famous photographer and music critic Guido Harari stand out, as well as those of Helge Schreiber, Claudia Schewe, Andrea “Pippo” Penco.

The free exhibition is open from 3.30pm to 9.30pm. Info sericraft.com.
