From 18 May to 9 June 2024, at the Albergo delle Povere in Palermo, the collective exhibition “Terra: contemporary art paths” will be held, within the initiative “Le 5 Generazioni presents Il Labirinto”. An exciting, immersive and innovative journey into Sicilian contemporary art of the last 70 years, through the works of almost 70 artists. The parterre of works and artists includes a significant, obviously partial, selection of the Sicilian art scene. We start from the ’60s, with the international categories of the time: Pop art, Informal, Spatialism, continuing with the neo avant-garde of the ’70s and conceptualism. We arrive in the eighties, where the Transavantgarde is triggered, with the return to painting, to neo-expressionism, to the new wave and to the liberalization of languages ​​that will characterize the year 2000 and extends up to the very latest generations. The event is sponsored by STP Journalists and Associates and by IISS Don Calogero Di Vincenti. The exhibition is supported and promoted by the Regional Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity. The organization is by the ACSB association. Entrance is free.

On May 18th the inauguration will begin at 6.30 pm. This will be followed by a buffet curated by the students of the Di Vincenti Institute of Bisacquino, accompanied by Principe di Corleone wines. There will be a performance by Veronica Pecoraino and a theater show by Paola Pace. At 8.30 pm there will be a concert by Dario Sulis and his band. Furthermore, in the streets of Cassaro, from 6 pm, the Seui Street Band will perform until they reach the Albergo delle Povere to accompany Dario Sulis with their music, starting from Piazza Pretoria and crossing Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
