A turbulent end to the year for Mediaset who these days finds himself having to deal with the judicial and media case that hit the host Alfonso Signorini and, indirectly, one of Biscione’s historic programs: the Big Brother. If until recently the airing of a new edition of the Big Brother VIP it seemed almost certain, starting next spring, what happened in the last few weeks could have radically changed the plans. Not long ago, the same Pier Silvio Berlusconi had announced its intention to bring a new edition of the film to the small screen Big Brother VIP starting from March 2026, complete with a cast which, according to rumors that have emerged in recent days, has already been presented by Alfonso Signorini to the top management of the company. Inevitably, the media case and judicial investigation that hit the host has radically messed up the cards on the table.

As a precaution, Alfonso Signorini has self-suspended from Mediasetconsequently canceling the possibility of being at the reins of others GF Vip. At the same time, however, it is not even certain that the reality show will be able to air next spring as previously planned, also considering the request of Codacons who stated in an official statement: “In light of the gravity and resonance of the reports that have emerged, it is not sufficient to stop the host. The entire broadcast of the new edition of Big Brother must be suspended as a precaution“.
Currently, Mediaset leaders are therefore concretely evaluating the various hypotheses on the future of reality which, today more than ever, appears to be at risk. The only certainty is that, in the event that the Big Brother should it air in 2026, Alfonso Signorini will not be at its reins.

Obviously, in case the next edition of Big Brother VIP should it fail, it will be necessary to concretely review the schedule in an attempt to offer the public programs capable of replacing a format that is still historical and structured. From rumors provided by The Pressfrom this point of view, Mediaset is considering the possibility of replace the evenings of GF con show entertainment (like the one featuring Pio and Amedeo) events, quiz e fictionattempting to compete with the Rai offer.
If instead the GF Vip should it take shape, it will be the task of the leaders to find a solution new conductor with some names already under consideration by Pier Silvio. Among these they would stand out Simona Ventura, Veronica Gentili e Ilary Blasi. But to know exactly what will happen, we just have to wait.
