The results of the 2021 IEA-PIRLS international survey were presented today

At the same time as the worldwide presentation of the international results of the IEA PIRLS survey which took place in 2021, the Italian results of this important study were presented today by INVALSI. The PIRLS survey (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study) has as its main objective the comparative assessment of reading literacy of students in the fourth year of schooling (aged between nine and ten).
The survey has reached its fifth cycle of implementation, is carried out every five years and is carried out in more than 50 countries around the world. For the first time, in most of the participating countries, including Italy, the tests required by the survey were carried out by computer. About 7,000 Italian students took part in this edition.
