July started with turbulent weather conditions that affected several Italian regions, mainly those in the north. However, an imminent change is expected, expected for the second half of the week, which could bring a more stable and warm period.
A summer of fits and starts
So far, summer has manifested itself only in brief moments, with intense but fleeting African heatwaves. The return of summer heat
Despite the current instability, summer seems ready to resume its course. Starting from July 4-5, the cool and unstable trough should move eastward, allowing the Azores anticyclone to expand from the west. This movement will ensure a progressive return to good weather, with rising temperatures.
Initially, the heat will be moderate, more pleasant than that brought by the African anticyclone. However, already during the weekend and at the beginning of the following week, an increase in temperatures is expected, especially in Center-Souththanks to the arrival of warmer air masses of subtropical origin.
The latest projections indicate a further strengthening of the anticyclone, which will take on African characteristics, bringing a progressive increase in temperatures. This could mark the beginning of a period of intense and persistent heat across the peninsula, inaugurating the hottest phase of the summer.
The weather continues to bring surprises, with a summer that is slow to stabilize but promises to regain strength and heat in the coming days.
