Tropeano wins the important international competition

La Megisti Kaş Swim Raceis held annually at the end of the Lycian Kaş International Festival of Culture and Arts, between the Greek island of Meis and the district of Kaş in Antalya (Turkey). Since 2005, it has been held every year in June to promote friendship between the two neighboring countries. Last Sunday, June 30, 2024, with 175 participants, from 20 countries, the mayor of Meis Nikolaos Asvestis, at 8:30 gave the start to the race.

While the fight against the current and the waves in the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean was followed with enthusiasm by sports enthusiasts, the Italian athlete Egor Tropeano (from Mendicino, CS) was the first to complete the 7-kilometer course in 1 hour, 41 minutes and 55 seconds.

Among the women, an excellent second place for his partner in life, Bengisu Avci. In the post-race interview, Tropeano, a former student of the University of Calabria, said that he had participated in this competition for the first time, and that he was very satisfied with the progress of the race. Tropeano himself had words of appreciation for the excellent organization and the beauty of the course.
