A seven-year-old boy lost his life in Montemarano, Irpinia. The little boy was the victim of a domestic accident while playing in the garage of his home. He was hit by a work tool which left him no escape in the fall.
The tragedy occurred yesterday evening, the Carabinieri and the Montella 118 health workers intervened on site.
Unfortunately, when help arrived, the child was already dead.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10, in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Montemarano. The tragedy has shocked the entire community. The celebrations in honor of Saints Giovanni and Paolo and the planned concert by the artist Povia have been canceled, the little victim was about to go with her parents to the patronal festival underway in a nearby hamlet.
Thus the mayor Beniamino Palmieri in a note on social media: “We are experiencing a tragedy that leaves us speechless and throws us into a state of deep pain and sincere emotion. We all have the duty to mourn this child who passed away so soon, we all have the duty to gather around his family, because this mourning is for all of Montemarano. Making myself the interpreter of the sentiment of the entire community I have decided to proclaim the day of mourning for tomorrow, June 28”.
