Coriano Futura: “Figliuolo’s visit was good. Ours is the only municipality not to have received post-flood funds”

We welcome the visit to Coriano of the commissioner for post-flood reconstruction, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo – write in a note the councilors of the Coriano Futura advisory group Paolucci, Marzi, Leonardi, Sampaolo, Talacci – but we absolutely do not understand the tones of jubilation and enthusiasm of mayor Ugolini and deputy mayor Spinelli.

Perhaps greater sobriety would have been appropriate after the undeniable error in transmitting the request for reconstruction funds. In the last months – the note continues – our municipality was the only municipality not to receive the necessary funds to restore the damage caused by the flood, which occurred a year ago now.

Funds, for a total of approximately 4 million euros which we remember, Mayor Ugolini had announced as already acquired with great fanfare in the press, but which the Municipality was not able to intercept due to what can today be undeniably confirmed as an error .

Thus, while in the other municipalities close to us Commissioner Figliuolo was able to carry out an inspection to verify the state of the art of financed interventions, in Coriano the visit was limited to taking note of the most critical situations after the flood of May 2023: a situation that should have been addressed, but which are still at a standstill due, let us tell you, to the presumptuous attitude of the award-winning Spinelli&Ugolini company.

The visit is a positive fact, because it confirms what was already anticipated in November by Commissioner Figliuolo, regarding the opening of the commissioner structure, aimed at resolving and making up for the misunderstandings that have occurred, in favor of our territory

This does not cancel – concludes the note from the directors of Coriano Futura – However, the poor impression made by our administrators, a bad impression that was further aggravated by lies that the Corianese do not deserve”.
