05/22/2024 – Almost 6.8 million euros from the commissioner structure for the 2022 flood emergency for the construction of the new sewerage system in Cagli. The intervention will be carried out by Marche Multiservizi which, in recent days, has entrusted the design task and will start the works by the end of the year.

The 2022 flood. Following the emergency of 15 September 2022 which affected five municipalities in our province, the national civil protection department provided the municipality of Cagli, through the commissioner structure, with funding of 6.8 million euros for urgent works. Resources which were then transferred to Aato 1 Marche Nord and subsequently made available to Marche Multiservizi which will follow the design and implementation of works that will allow the restoration of the Cagliese sewage system seriously damaged by the floods.

The project. The intervention, divided into two lots, involves the construction of 7 km of new pipelines and 6 lifting systems. A structural solution to secure the sewerage network of the Caglie area which currently, developing along the river bed, is more exposed to the risk of damage and spills in the event of floods or floods. The project, which involves the moving and reconstruction of the current sewerage network, will therefore guarantee environmental benefits and a more efficient service. In order to be able to start as quickly as possible with the Marche Multiservizi shipyard, at the same time as the design was awarded, it started the process for completing the tender procedure for the assignment of the works.

“The 2022 flood was a devastating event for five municipalities in our area – stated the CEO of Marche Multiservizi Mauro Tiviroli – Marche Multiservizi was close to the affected populations both in the emergency phase to quickly restore services (water, gas and waste disposal) and in the immediately following phase which saw us at work immediately to carry out the work of great urgency in the shortest possible time and thus provide initial relief to the affected areas by giving concrete answers to citizens and families and building the foundations for a relaunch of the territory: we completed 25 interventions for 5.2 million euros in less than six months. With this intervention we are instead going to give a structural response to the problems of Cagli’s sewage systems. Works that will allow us to make the current sewerage system safe so that it will no longer be exposed to the risks of river flooding or floods. To reach the operational phase more quickly, the Company, thanks also to the solidity and professionalism of GI break of which it is part, has already prepared, in parallel withat the design stagethe activities for the assignment of the works and the supply of materials”.
