Today, May 9th, we celebrate the Europe Day with a series of initiatives that are part of the broad program of “European May” in Ravenna and surrounding areas, promoted by the Europe Direct Romagna Centre. Today in Ravenna will be full of events: until 5 pm Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste will host the “Europa role play”, the simulation of the European Parliament with the secondary schools of Ravenna, organized by the Municipality of Ravenna, Informagiovani and Centro Europe Direct of Romagna.
The event was held in Piazza San Francesco moment of thanks “European solidarity during the flood in Romagna”, towards the countries that provided help, by the Province of Ravenna and in the presence of representatives of the embassies of the countries themselves, which are Belgium, France, Slovakia and Slovenia. This was followed by the placing of their flags in the provincial council room. Finally, at 5.30 pm, the conference “Ravenna at the time of the Ottonians” will take place in the Buzzi room on Viale Berlinguer, organized by the Amici di Speyer club.
“One year after the flood – states the mayor and President of the Province of Ravenna, Michele de Pascale – the Romagna community is committed to reconstruction, compensation and prevention policies, but basically everyone remains a feeling of ingratitude. A year ago, after the flood, an appeal for help was made at European level to which 4 countries responded, bringing their vehicles and pumps to our territory to provide assistance and Belgium, France, Slovakia and Slovenia. Today we place their flags in the provincial council room to remember their commitment and also to remember how important solidarity is in times of emergency.”
