Italian Radicals, meeting with Giampiero Leo

Last night we met the Vice President of the Human Rights Committee of the Piedmont Region, Giampiero Leo.

Forging relationships between Italian and Ukrainian institutions, between Italian and Ukrainian territories, also means trying to find concrete solutions together to support hospitals where there is a lack of essential machinery and medicines, and schools, which are often forced to close due to lack of shelters anti-bomb, of the civilian population evacuated from occupied territories, of women victims of violence, for the help in finding ambulances where they are missing and pick ups for the transport of the population…

Ukraine, for two years and three months now, has been living under Russian bombs, missiles and drones. The living conditions in the occupied territories are appalling, as is the invader’s brutality against civilians.

Thanks to Giampiero Leo for his time and for his always sincere and proactive interest. And thanks to the Radical Association Adelaide Aglietta of Turin for hosting the meeting in its headquarters and with its coordinators present. We are particularly happy to have held this meeting in the Aglietta headquarters also given the attack of violence and censorship suffered by the association’s militants during the April 25th parade (with consequent theft of Ukrainian flags).

We truly hope that this round of connections between Italy and Ukraine will be useful for mutual understanding and an ever-increasing desire to collaborate in Ukraine’s victory and the reconstruction of a truly extraordinary country.

Patrizia De Grazia, President of the Italian Radicals, declared this in a note
