The Euro 2024 round of 16 ends today in Germany. Romania-Holland was played at 6pm: Koeman’s team won 3-0 and qualified for the quarterfinals. At 9pm there is Austria-Turkey. In recent days Italy was eliminated by Switzerland, which therefore continues its journey in the tournament and will face England on Saturday 6 July at 6pm. France and Portugal have also gained access to the quarterfinals, and will face each other on 5 July at 9pm, as well as Germany and Spain, who will play the same day at 6pm. The chronicle of Romania-Holland
The Netherlands beat Romania 3-0. The first goal came in the 20th minute: Gakpo scored, surprising Nita with a powerful shot at the near post. Before half-time, the Dutch almost doubled their lead: De Vrij scored on the outside of the net, Simons did poorly from an excellent position, and Depay also wasted his chances. The Netherlands also wasted several chances in the second half. In the 58th minute, Van Dijk hit the post, heading the ball off the base of a corner kick. In the 63rd minute, Gakpo’s goal was disallowed for offside. Malen scored the second goal of the match in the 83rd minute, assisted by Gakpo. Malen closed the match once again: in the 93rd minute, the Dutch striker went on the counterattack and scored a brace and made it 3-0. Romania was eliminated and the Netherlands flew to the quarter-finals, where they will face the winner of Austria-Turkey on Saturday at 9 p.m.
