Important news that we will see starting from July 1st. In fact, at the Tour de France, we will no longer have the Trek Segafredo why, the US team, has changed sponsor and denomination. Segafredo will soon leave the world of cycling and from 30 June the team of Ciccone and Mads Pedersen will be called Lidl Trek. The same goes for the women’s team as well, with the start of the Giro Rosa. A radical change, with Segafredo officially leaving the world of cycling. The Italian brand had supported the US company since 2016 and was a very important support for the engagement of Vincent Nibali in 2020.

After careful consideration, however, the Italian brand has decided to turn away from cycling, focusing on other markets even if, it is news of the last few days, there will also be a downsizing with the basketball team of the Virtus Bologna.

Trek, however, immediately found a worthy replacement, with the entry “into the team”. Lidl, a well-known German supermarket chain. Lidl was already in the cycling world as a sponsor of Quick Step, now with the move to Trek it has also changed its role, assuming the position of title sponsor.
