Born in Russia but fully Italian, having moved to our country at the age of just eight, Dayana Kosareva will be a bolster for the Itas Trentino team that will take part in the next women’s Serie A2 championship. The move by President Da Re’s club is a real market coup, as the Moscow winger is a real luxury for the second national category. In the season that just ended, Kosareva was in fact one of the main offensive terminals for Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia, a club that gained promotion to the top division, also winning the A2 Italian Cup; Dayana’s contribution to the Umbrian cause was notable, as is well demonstrated by the 331 points scored in the 30 matches played this season, with an excellent performance on serve that allowed her to climb to fifth place among the players who scored the highest number of aces (34) in the Regular Season.
Before her experience in Perugia, Dayana had played in Serie A1 for four consecutive seasons, wearing the jerseys of Florence, Vallefoglia, Casalmaggiore and Scandicci. Despite still being a very young athlete, the Russian number 4 has been a regular in Serie A since 2016, when she made her debut with Legnano. In 2013, she received her first call-up to the national team as part of the “Talenti 2020” project: her journey with the Italian national team continued until she entered the Under 19 group that in 2016 earned the pass to the European Championships in the category.

I believe that talent must be continuously stimulated to evolve and we will have to focus on the aspects on which to focus our attention: we will work to grow together towards a team goal”.
