Sometimes they come back, you could say that. The last image of Remy Gardner on a MotoGP dates back to 2022, when the Australian was called to fly the colors of the Tech3 team with KTM. An adventure that ended badly so much that the company decided to end its relationship with him at the end of the season.
Gardner was then forced to start again from Superbike, climbing aboard the Yamaha of the GRT team, led by Filippo Conti. Almost two years after his last appearance in the MotoGP, there could now be a new chance for him in MotoGP.
As far as we know, Remy Gardner could in fact replace Alex Rins (who underwent surgery last night on the hand he fractured in a crash during the race at Assen) for the Sachsenring GP, scheduled for this weekend. The Australian is among the candidates to replace the Spaniard, victim of a broken wrist in the Assen GP and the matter should be defined in the next few hours.
We will see if Gardner will be on the Yamaha M1 in Germany or not. At the moment he is the main candidate to join Fabio Quartararo.
