“This is why I left Lazio! I’ll tell you everything, with Lotito…”

Luis Alberto breaks the silence. In a long interview with AS.com, the former number 10 of Lazio he explained the reasons for his farewell and what didn’t go well in his last months in the capital. Below are her statements.

“It was time to leave. Last summer I was close to leaving and this season hasn’t been positive at all either. After Sarri’s resignation everything got worse and my relationship with the president wasn’t the best. I realized that my period was over and I had to find a way to go away. It wasn’t the best possible ending because mentally I struggled to go to training and the relationship with the president didn’t help me at all. The circle had to be closed. I leave many friends and much love in what I consider my second home.”

“Moving to Europe? There were calls and interests, but nothing materialized. In Spain it was almost impossible because no club would pay to buy me. Qatar was already an option last season, but the move couldn’t be finalized and I gave them my word that I would go there when I could. Why didn’t I go to the national team? On some occasions maybe I deserved it. Especially in 2019 and 2020. I think they weren’t honest with me. It’s true that there is a lot of talent in Spain and that there are many players in my position, but perhaps I deserved a few more opportunities, especially in the years I mentioned.”
