In addition to Van der Mark’s confirmation with Toprak, there is another significant piece of news to report in the aftermath of the Misano weekend: Bonovo is in fact saying goodbye to BMW and withdrawing from the Superbike paddock.

The owner Jürgen Röder explains the decision: “From 2025 I will resign for personal reasons and, as a result, Bonovo action will retire as a BMW factory team. I would like to personally thank all the fans who have remained so loyal to us, who have shared our joys and our difficult moments. Many, many thanks, because without the enthusiasm of the spectators and fans, such a feat would never have been possible. We were carried away by the euphoria and enthusiasm of the crowd, both in the IDM and in the World Championship. It was a wonderful feeling to bring joy to others with our pilots and provide entertainment and happy moments.”

Roder then added: “I would also like to thank our entire team, led by our team manager Michael Galinski, who has always done an excellent job. We hope we can have a greater impact for the second part of the season, because we are doing everything, our best, to move forward and we hope we can still show some signs of vitality on our part this year”.

There is also a mention of BMW: “I my thanks also go to BMW. The House of Monaco has always been a correct and very reliable partner, which supported us in everything and for everything. This year too we receive the same spare parts as our SMR colleagues and I can only express gratitude”

Bonovo’s farewell represents a sore point for the entire team, considering that some members will have to find a new position within the paddock. As for the drivers, both Redding and Gerloff have contracts with BMW: Scott has an option for 2025 while the American is out of contract.
