Ajax has reached an agreement with Francesco Farioli and OGC Nice for the transfer of the coach to Ajax. Farioli has signed a three-year contract, starting from 11 June 2024 and running until 30 June 2027. Farioli (Barga, Italy, 10 April 1989) will become the coach of Ajax’s first team. The coach began his career in 2009 in the youth departments of several Italian clubs. From 2015 to 2017 he worked as a goalkeeping coach in Qatar. He held the same role at Serie A clubs Benevento Calcio and US Sassuolo Calcio. In mid-2020, Farioli was appointed assistant coach of Turkish Alanyaspor. In spring 2021, he became head coach of Fatih Karagümrük, playing in the Turkish Süper Lig. This made him the youngest ever manager of a Turkish league. Farioli became head coach of Alanyaspor in 2021, where he had previously held the role of assistant. In mid-2023 Farioli was appointed head coach of French OGC Nice, with which he finished fifth in Ligue 1.

Ajax’s coaching staff will be completed by technical assistants Daniele Cavalletto and Felipe Sanchez Mateos, both transferred from OGC Nice. Cavalletto (Padua, Italy, 3 March 1977) has been assistant coach of several Italian clubs since 2008. He has worked in OCG Nice, Fatih Karagümrük and Alanyaspor together with Farioli and Sanchez Mateos (Llerena, Spain, 21 April 1986), who in his He has experience as an assistant coach with several (youth) teams in Spain, Turkey, Qatar and Ecuador.
