The structure that has made itself available to welcome is a community managed by a social cooperative in the province of Milan Krzysztof Jan Lewandowski, the 34-year-old Polish driver, currently detained in Opera, who last September 20, driving a tow truck, hit and killed two 21-year-old friends, Giorgia Cagliani and Milena Marangon, while they were walking towards the village festival in Brivio (Lecco).
The decision to attenuate the precautionary measure adopted against the man accused of road homicide aggravated by driving under the influence of cannabis, ha the Lecco investigating judge was taken Gianluca Piantadosi, accepting the request made by the defense lawyers, the lawyers Gianbattista Colombo and Agnieszka Janusz, with a negative opinion expressed by the prosecutor’s office.
According to what was established by the investigating judge, the 34-year-old Polish man with no criminal record will be able to leave prison under house arrest with an electronic bracelet, “when the device is made available to him”, and in any case not before January 7th. Before that date, in fact, the place in the chosen structure would not be available. The man, self-confessed, after driving for about 14 hours, driving at 80 mph on a road with a speed limit of 70, hit the two girls, who were walking along the side of the road in single file with a third friend who remained unharmed. Immediate trial has been ordered for Lewandowski, even if the defenders would be willing to file a request for an abbreviated trial.
