The police are investigating a murder and are looking for the murder weapon
Il body of a young manapparently aged 25-30 years, was found on Wednesday 31 December, in a field in Mira, a municipality in the province of Venice. A passerby noticed it and alerted the police. The corpse is dressedlying on his side; a wound on his templewhich it seems compatible with a gunshot. On the spot it was
called the coroner, together with the magistrate on duty, with
the commander of the investigative unit of the Venice Army,
Giuseppe Battaglia, and the provincial commander, Marco Aquilio.
The investigation
The investigation is for murder. Based on the first findings carried out on the body, death appears to have been caused by a bullet shot to the head: the man was leaning on his side, near a drainage ditch, reachable from a small straight road that leads towards Marghera, in the area of the Moranzani valley. The victim is a foreigner from Eastern Europe aged 25-30. The body may have been moved to open countryside at a later time.
As mentioned, the murder trail is the most accredited at the moment, if only because no trace of a gun or firearm was found: the searches continued throughout the day with the support of the firefighters and divers.
The ground may have retained traces of any tires or shoe prints. The investigators leave nothing to chance and all leads are followed to give an explanation to the death.
