New born in Rome in 2026
The first four came into the world in the Santa Famiglia nursing home. Two girls were born practically simultaneously: Lavinia (weighing 3,200 grams) and Ottavia (3,230 grams). Shortly after it was the turn of Jiayi (3200 grams), finally Luca (3370). The babies and mothers are in excellent condition and were looked after by the clinic team, made up of doctor Luca Cipriano, director Manuela De Fabiis, midwife Marisa Gianfrancesco and doctor Matteo Moretti.
Parents moved
The parents were moved. Camilla and Marco are Lavinia’s parents. After a complex pregnancy and difficult family moments, the happy news arrived, which was commented as follows: “Miracles are born first in dreams” they commented with emotion. Lavinia and Giovanni, teachers from Cassino, welcomed the new year with the arrival of Ottavia, the second daughter. Celebrations also for the Wu family, who arrived from China and for the parents of little Luca.
Benedetta was born in Sant’Eugenio
At the Sant’Eugenio hospital in Rome, however, the first born was called Benedetta and came into the world at 00:29, with a natural birth. The little girl is the first child of mother Sabrina and father Kevin. Barbara Funari, councilor for social policies and health of Rome Capital, brought greetings from the city of Rome and, as per tradition, a gift of a blanket and flowers to the mother. “This white cover – explains Funari – represents Rome’s embrace with a Jubilee of Hope which is coming to an end, but which projects us together into the future. Thanks to all the healthcare workers who work night and day, even on holidays, to guarantee care. Best wishes to this new citizen of Rome and a warm welcome also from our entire city”.

Penelope first born at the Castelli hospital
At 1.26 am today, at the Castelli hospital, the night lit up with a new life, Penelope was born (3140 grams and 51 centimeters tall). The little girl came into the world in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department directed by Dr. Francesco Barletta. The spontaneous birth of mother Ilenia, 31 years old, “took place in an atmosphere of serenity and safety – reported the ASL Roma 6 – with father Lorenzo, 38 years old, beside her, an emotional witness to one of the most intense moments of life. An experience made possible by the professionalism, competence and humanity of the team on duty in the birthing block”.
The gynecologists Valeria Romeo and Gabriella Cantonetti assisted the birth, together with the midwife Valentina Siri, with the support of Arianna Lazzazera and Ilaria Amatore, who accompanied the mother with attention, care and sensitivity in every phase of labor. “Little Penelope – continued the ASL in a note – was welcomed and followed by the neonatologist Dr Armando Ceccarelli, while childbirth analgesia was performed by the anesthetist Dr Roberto Di Mauro, helping to guarantee comfort and safety during the birth. This birth once again represents the value of the daily commitment of the ASL Roma 6 community, which puts the person, life and the quality of care at the centre, accompanying families in the most important moments with professionalism and heart. little Penelope, to mother Ilenia and father Lorenzo, the most sincere hugs and best wishes from the entire healthcare community”.
