The next few hours will once again be characterised by a highly unstable context for many regions of the country where other storms will break out and where heavy showers and local hailstorms will occur..
The reason is to be found in the passage of an initial unstable front which during the course of Monday 1st July has reached the Northern regions and is now heading towards the Centre and the South. For this reason, already from next few hours the atmosphere will show a marked instability right at the center, with the threat of rains and thunderstorms which will mainly affect the Adriatic sectors, while on the Tyrrhenian side the sun will make more frequent appearances.
In the afternoon, bad weather will concentrate mainly on Abruzzo, Molise and on the reliefs of the Lazioleaving the rest of the central regions to enjoy more sunshine.
Pay close attention to thunderstorms which could also be very intense accompanied by sudden gusts of wind, heavy showers and some hailstorms..
The Sardiniain contrast, will benefit from decidedly calmer and drier weather conditions.
In the South the meteorological panorama will be destined to show clear signs of worsening. In fact, we expect an alternation of thunderstorms and clearings are Puglia, Basilicata and on the mountainous areas of the Campania during the morning. As the hours pass, the stormy instability will continue to concentrate mainly on Basilicata, Puglia and mountainous areas of the Campaniawith the risk of intense phenomena here too.
From this context of strong instability the Sicily where we will have sunnier and drier conditions.
In the North, after a sunny morning, the weather is expected to deteriorate during the evening, with an increase in storm instability starting from the Alpine arc, due to a second storm impulse which will initially involve the mountainous areas, but as the evening and night progress, the phenomena could also spread to the plain areas.
Based on available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protectionin agreement with the regions involved, which are responsible for activating civil protection systems in the affected territories, has issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting the various areas of the country, could determine some hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the department’s website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
The warning provides for the early hours of Tuesday 2nd Julystrong to stormy north-westerly winds on Sicily, extending to Calabria, in particular the areas of the Strait of Sicily and the Ionian sectors, with storm surges along the exposed coasts. Furthermore, always expected from the early hours of Tuesday 2 scattered precipitation, mainly showers or thunderstorms, on Abruzzo, Molise and Puglia, extending to Campania and Basilicata. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.
Also on the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, a decision was also made for the day of Tuesday 2nd July, YELLOW ALERT in the Veneto, in part of Tuscany and Umbria, in the entire territory of Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata and in part of Calabria.
