After With the keys we havethe live theater performance taken from his latest recording Thirteen urgent songsa musical journey that crossed the entire peninsula, collecting numerous sold outs and receiving the enthusiasm of the public and critics, Vinicio Capossela back on tour with Other Keysa series of special summer concerts with different lineups and repertoire.
“If with the autumn tour “With the keys we have” – which brought the Thirteen urgent songs to the theater – touching certain keys seemed necessary to respond to certain urgencies that current events imposed, says Capossela – it will be even more necessary to touch Other keys now that those critical issues have not disappeared and new urgencies seem to be added to the old ones, also overshadowing the summer horizon. A natural continuation of the urgent concerts of the past months, “Other Keys” therefore wants to continue to give public prominence to the word, and with words and music compose a concert that weaves together the splinters of a world that seems to have fallen to pieces. This offers a discourse of criticism of the present through which to recognize the possibility within the limit and imagine a collective perspective in which reason and feeling are keep under the seal of gratitude for a life redeemed from its fragmentation”.

Thirteen urgent songs, released in April 2023 and winner of the Targa Tenco 2023 as Best Album Overall, is a record born from the urgency of interpreting and giving voice to the most pressing problems of the historical moment we are experiencing: gender violence, bad education emotions, dropping out of school, the delegation by adults to digital entertainment in which childhood finds itself, culture used as a means of social separation, prison understood as imprisonment without re-education, the consumerist paroxysm generated by predatory capitalism. Songs that arise from the need to face and deal with the problems that crowd a world that is now supine, sunk on the sofa in the face of the continuous spectacularization of reality. A world in which everything, including emotion, has been domiciled and disembodied under a veil that has hidden from consciousness the preparation of the worst of catastrophes: war, with all the corollary of violence, poisoning, simplification and nullification of every “cultural” effort aimed at building a community of free and equal men.
