The famous singer Celine Dion returns to talk about the neurological disease that affected her in the article accompanying the cover of Vogue France.

In 2023 Celine Dion should have resumed the world tour that had been postponed several times, first due to the pandemic and then for health reasons, but as fans know, this was not the case, given that the Canadian singer eventually had to reveal that she had contracted a rare disease neurological, the so-called “stiff person syndrome”, which affects one person in a million and which causes spasms and muscle stiffness which effectively prevent them from singing again. She has now returned to talk about her condition in an interview given to Vogue Francewhich chose her as the “cover girl” for the month of May, and in which she tells what she hopes for and how she is dealing with this terrible disease.

Celine Dion talks about her drama to Vogue

When asked how he is doing now, Celine DIon he replies “good, but with a lot of effort. One day at a time”. And when she is asked how she managed to go through this difficult period in which she had to fight with the disease, she says:

I have not fought with the disease, which is always and forever inside me. I hope a miracle will be found, a way to heal it with scientific research, but I have to learn to live with it. (…) Five days a week I follow athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work with both my toes, knees, calves, fingers, singing, voice… it’s the condition I have to learn to live with now, stopping asking questions. I started by saying: why me? What happened? What have I done? Is it my fault by any chance? Life provides no answers. You simply have to live it! I have this disease for an unknown reason. I have two choices: either I train like an athlete and work very hard or I log out and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of the mirror and sing to myself. I chose to work with my whole body and soul, from head to toe with a medical team. I want to be better than myself. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!

Life has not spared harsh trials Celine Dionalso affected by the death of her beloved husband and manager René Angelilbut, as you rightly say, life is like that, it’s useless to ask yourself questions that won’t have an answer and throw in the towel, it’s better to roll up your sleeves and do everything you can to live it, even in its most painful aspects.
