The consortium led by Claudio Sciurpa, who had put forward an economic proposal to take over Perugia in recent days, issued a statement in which they explained how Santopadre rejected the offer.
The press release from the Sciurpa group
With great regret, we take note of yet another refusal from President Massimiliano Santopadre regarding both the economic offer and the request for the granting of a short period of exclusivity to analyze the income statement and financial situation of AC Perugia Calcio.
Unfortunately, we found ourselves faced with a strategy from the seller who, for months, has continuously made excuses to procrastinate and raise the stakes of the dispute, making it impossible to move forward with the negotiation, despite the offer we presented being significantly higher than the value of a team in Lega Pro.
We are tired and disappointed and do not deserve this treatment. We are good people, and our professional and personal history proves it. We would have liked to do a lot, driven by the great passion and love for our Grifo, as always. However, if one day concrete and positive conditions were to be created, we will always be ready.
We are deeply sorry for the fans and for the entire community. We thank the athletes, journalists, our consultants and all those who have been close to us and have supported and encouraged us during this stressful period.
We wish our beloved Grifo the best future successes.
Thank you all.
Claudio Sciurpa, Mauro Ricci, Claudio Antonini
