The new swimming facility in the Municipality of Legnano ready for 2026. A 12.9 million loan comes from BCC Leasing, another 2 million from the Pnrr
Legnano – The project is moving towards implementation the new swimming pool in Legnano, the set completion date of the works is 2026. Between viale Gorizia and viale Toselli in fact, a new structure of significant dimensions will be built to satisfy a user base, between Legnano and the surrounding area, of over 70 thousand people.
“The insufficiency of the old system has been discussed for about fifteen years, – comments the mayor Lorenzo Radice –It was at the end of 2019, following the collapse of a glass window, that the Legnano swimming pool entered a difficult phase, which became further complicated in the following years to the point of making it necessary not to renovate the existing one, but to build a new one”.
What the new swimming pool will be like
The new swimming pool will have a children’s pool and two 25-metre internal pools: a competitive pool with 8 lanes and a training/warm-up pool for competitions with 4 lanes, 2 and 1.2 meters deep respectively.
There will also be a grandstand with a capacity of around 200 seats, new changing rooms and an entrance with bar and reception. which will look out onto a glass window from which you can watch the courses. All in a building with energy performance 20% lower than the threshold set for buildings with very low energy consumption. Finally, it will be the 50 meter summer pool was redeveloped, which will be redefined with three different functional areas: an area dedicated to swimming (non-competitive) and fitness, a relaxation area and a spray park area intended for the little ones.
The funds are coming
“It is a source of great satisfaction to have identified the public/private partnership as the tool that has paved the way for the solution to a long-standing problem for Legnano, such as that of the swimming facility”, concludes the mayor. “For Legnano sport this is a historic moment in its own way”, finally notes the Councilor for Sport, Guido Bragato.
