PALERMO – Lessons are over, but even in summer children, teenagers and adults will find a door always open with experts ready to listen to them: the toll-free line (800.280.000) and a chat (on the project website www.1nessuno100giga.it) for listening and reporting of acts of bullying and cyberbullying managed by the SOS Il Telefono Azzurro Ets Foundation and launched last April as part of the “1nessuno100giga” pilot project, developed and coordinated by the Regional School Office for Sicily and financed with almost 2.4 million euro from the Sicilian Region, through the Department of Education and Vocational Training.
The service is available from Monday to Friday from 2pm to 8pm. There were many reports received between April and June, both from minors and adults. From the first analyzes it emerges that pre-adolescents and adolescents are more involved in bullying episodes. The largest percentage of requests comes from Eastern Sicily. It also emerges that the main reasons for contacting the service are isolation and rejection.
The line is also useful for parents who need support to understand how to help their children who experience bullying situations.
