The first municipal council of the Gerli administration was held in Piazza IV Novembre, in Striano, in the presence of a very large crowd. For the first time in the history of Strianese politics a municipal council was held in a public square, a formula that worked in terms of presence and participation.
During the assembly of elected representatives, Santolo Sorvillo was voted president of the city council. Subsequently, the mayor Giulio Gerli took the oath and, subsequently, illustrated the programmatic lines of the mandate.
“I feel all the responsibility of an institutional task and a role which I have arrived at after a path that is in some ways difficult but always exciting. I thank all the voters who made up the current city council with their choices and their votes. I thank the majority municipal councilors, I thank and greet the minority councillors. This will always be the place for dialogue, sharing, discussion and listening”, said the mayor, among other things.
Giulio Gerli has long joined the Greens and is the first green mayor of Campania. Much of his administrative program is based precisely on environmental protection: “We will make Striano a citizen-friendly, liveable town, combining innovation, development and sustainability.”
