” The clutches of description are not permitted at the meeting with the beloved. Yet, we dare to imagine. The deformities of human things, the gigantic fictions, the hypocrisies, the human calculations, the disappointed hopes, the futility of the efforts that pursue earthly happiness, the empty thoughts. The instability of human fortunes. The seductive charm of passions, which causes virtues to be called vice and madness to be called virtue. The nothingness of time. Nothingness. Boredom. And then, the sweet Infinity of God, so beautiful in your black eyes. The infinite, eternal and perfect love, one and triune, vaster than the sky in which you reflected yourself. Glory that surpasses all knowledge, wisdom, before which all wisdom falls. The eternity of the seasons that do not pass. The beauty of the ever green trees of paradise. And finally you and the smallness of your heart”
