From 7th to 30th June in Fano more than 4 thousand fish soups served

Caffè del Porto wins, for the second consecutive year, the final evening of FuoriBrodetto 2024, an initiative promoted by Confesercenti, the Federation of Restaurateurs, the Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality of Fano and the Marche Region. “A huge emotion – declared the owners Simone Serfilippi e Stefania Palazzini and the chef Stephen Romano – we really didn’t imagine we would win, a great satisfaction. With so many restaurants in the competition and in front of so many good and passionate colleagues we really didn’t expect it. The secret of our brodetto? The heart, the soul and the local product that we use every day”.

Sight, smell, taste and typicality, as well as respect for the typical local recipe, were the criteria used by the jury in order to decree the winner. With Prof. Corrado Piccinetti, the gastronome and sommelier Otello Renzi presiding, the chef Lucio Pompili: “FuoriBrodetto is a wonderful event that extends the BrodettoFestival experience. It is a very good exercise in the kitchen because it requires a strong manual skill to put this extraordinary product that characterizes the city of Fano on the fire and can very well represent the first reason why tourists decide to come here”.

The winner chef was awarded in the final event in Villamarina, welcomed by the owner Martina Carloni, by Alessandro Ligurgo and Pier Stefano Fiorelli, respectively director and president of Confesercenti Pesaro and Urbino, the president of Confesercenti Fano Adolfo Ciuccoli, the director of Fano Matteo Radicchi and Stefano Mirisola, union manager, the latter also coordinators of the event. Tommaso Di Sante of the Chamber of Commerce spoke while the journalist Davide Eusebi hosted the evening.

“We are very satisfied – they say Matthew Radicchi e Stefano Mirisola – this year too we had many registrations from restaurants in Fano, an event that attracted many visitors attracted by the widespread promotion of the event. A success that has grown over the years as has the level of brodetto served. A result that comes thanks to the organization and collaboration of restaurateurs. Also for this reason, brodetto will continue to be the main dish on restaurant menus throughout the year”. Competing for the title are Osteria dalla Peppa, Da Pep, Osteria Pani e Pesci, La Liscia da Ori, Caffè del Porto, Ristorantino da Santin, Villamarina, Il Giardino dei Sapori, Trattoria da Ugo, Tinto, Cruiser Cafe Restaurant, Darderi Bistrò. With 21 evenings, starting from June 7, Fuori Brodetto 2024 confirms the success of the public and of the format that included in the participating restaurants, for every day of the week, special menus based on brodetto, each with its own version of the famous soup and a 20% discounted price. In total, more than 4 thousand brodetti were served. Once FuoriBrodetto is over, the possibility of tasting the brodetto alla fanese served in the restaurants of Fano on the menus or by reservation throughout the year does not end.
