Bologna is tinged with noir in the month of July: the ‘Bo-Noir. Bologna’s black lounge’ event returns to Piazza San Francesco on Saturday, with three events on Saturday evening that will retrace the steps of some of the most famous news stories that have marked Italy. From the still unsolved case of Emanuela Orlandi, to the murder of Yara Gambirasio, to the monsters of Circeo, journalists, experts and relatives of the victims will try their hand at narrating stories that cannot be forgotten. “A format that we created in 2006 and that, after a long hiatus from 2008 onwards, we resumed last year with great success” explains Riccardo Marchesini, artistic director of Bo-Noir together with the writer Grazia Verasani and the journalist Stefano Tura, who will moderate the meetings. This year each event will be preceded by a reading by an actress accompanied by live music. It starts this Saturday at 9 pm, dealing with the well-known case of Emanuela Orlandi which to date, after 41 years, has still not been solved and sees four different open leads. The speakers will be Pietro Orlandi, Emanuela’s brother who has been fighting for years to discover the truth, Laura Sgrò, lawyer of the Orlandi family since 2017 and author of the book ‘Cercando Emanuela’ and the screenwriter and writer Anna Cherubini. “We believe that the fairest possible way to deal with these cases is to do it through the testimonies of the victims’ families” explains Tura. The following Saturday the stage in Piazza San Francesco will host ‘Shadows in the dark: the crime of Yara Gambirasio’. A very complicated case, that of the murder of the young thirteen-year-old in 2010, for which Massimo Bossetti was sentenced to life imprisonment. The criminologist Roberta Bruzzone will speak together with the writers Giuseppe Genna and Elena Scarrone. The tragic case of the Monsters of Circeo will close the festival: Roberto Colasanti, brother of Donatella, the only survivor of the two girls kidnapped in 1975 by Gianni Guido, Angelo Izzo and Andrea Ghira, will take the stage at Bo Noir on July 20. Andrea Catizone, a lawyer who has been a champion of family rights for years, and journalist Massimo Lugli will also speak. Bo-Noir, included in the Bologna Estate program, is free to enter with a reservation on the Ert website, although it is possible to go directly to the square and access until all spaces are filled. In case of rain, the events will be held at the Teatro Arena del Sole.
