Ferrara There are only a few final details to share within the club, then Massimo Pedriali will be able to (finally) take that step upwards and sit on the bench of the second team of the Spalthe under 19 who will participate in the next Primavera 2 championship, a recognition that is nothing short of deserved.

Rising profile

Pedriali, born in 1971 and a true Ferrarese, would replace Vito Grieco, after the latter’s two-year contract expired just a few days ago. In recent weeks, more than one rumor in town had been going around about the fact that Spal would even propose the bench of the main selection youthful white and blue to Mirco Antenucci, but the hypothesis has never found real confirmation. Pedriali has always been the real name taken into consideration, but the nomination is slow in arriving due to the fact that such an important role would have had to be evaluated also by the new sports director of the club – the Casella-Danzè-Casella affair was a long one –, in addition to the sacrosanct opinions expressed by the top figures of the white and blue youth system, such as Massimiliano De Gregorio and Francesco Conti.

Pedriali is back fromyet another season lived in via Copparo: at the helm of the Under 17s, together with his assistant Samuel Arzenton, he had to give in to Renate in the double challenge played in the round of 16 of a good championship. His name, however, had been linked to the Primavera bench already 365 days ago. The personal promotion would certainly have been deserved, after the two wonderful consecutive tricolors won at the helm of the Under 18s (disappeared after the relegation to C of the big Spal). But the directors Fusco and Righi, legitimately, had chosen to give continuity to the good work of Vito Grieco, in compliance with the contract that was in place with the coach from Molfetta. “Pedro”, however, had so impressed theFerrara environment with those successes that in more than one part of the city he was claimed as a guide for the first team. Maybe the time for that will come too. In the meantime, the real closeness of the Pedriali-Primavera operation remains.

Presentations

Spal yesterday made official the arrival in via Copparo of the new general manager Luca Carra (contract until 2026). The former manager of Parma and Catania will be presented today, when he will receive a public welcome from the United States via video link from president Joe Tacopina. The new sports director Alex Casella is also operational at the “GB Fabbri”, whose first press conference is expected for tomorrow morning. The presentation of the new season ticket campaign should then be confirmed for Friday.
