On the morning of July 1st, the Carabinieri of the Viterbo and Civitavecchia (RM) Companies have started a large joint service to combat criminal groups dedicated to thefts between the coast and the hinterland of upper Lazio. A service that has seen patrols in uniform and in simulated clothing move across the territory, culminating with the arrest in flagrante delicto of 5 people; the military of the Operational Section of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the capital in synergy with their colleagues of the Operational Section of Civitavecchia surprised them in the parking area of the “Belcolle” hospital, while the latter were busy rummaging through a car just parked by a user of the facility.
The five, a twenty-five year old and two thirty year olds from Civitavecchia, a twenty year old from Aprilia (LT) and a fifty-one year old from Cerveteri (RM), had forced a window, not realizing the arrival of the military. A simultaneous search of the rented car parked not far from the arrested, allowed the seizure of gloves and scissors considered useful for the break-in.
Following the operations coordinated by the Operations Centers, the arrested were held in a holding cell, at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, which validated the arrests for all of them. In addition, two of the arrested were ordered to remain at home, with a requirement not to leave their homes between 8:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., while the remaining were released. This morning, the local Police Headquarters issued a repatriation order for all of them to their municipalities of residence and a ban on returning to the municipality of Viterbo for three years.
