The Vesuvius Observatory has communicated to the administration of Pozzuoli that starting from 15:09 local time (UTC 13:09) on 02/07/2024 a seismic swarm is underway in the area of Phlegraean FieldsAt the time of issue of this press release, 8 earthquakes with magnitude Md≥ 0.0 (5 localized) and maximum magnitude Md=2.9± 0.3 have been preliminarily detected.

The previous earthquake in Campi Flegrei
Last night the Vesuvius Observatory reported the occurrence of a seismic event of magnitude 1.8 ± 0.3 located in the Gulf of Pozzuoli. The earthquake occurred at 01:27 local time, at a depth of 2.42 km. The event may have been accompanied by a roar felt by citizens living along the coastal area.
