The reference will be the regional department for the Family: it is the permanent round table for consultation on health and safety in the environment, which will have, among its tasks, observation, monitoring and the preparation of proposals aimed at improving conditions to limit the risks of accidents in the workplace.
“In this phase, where Sicily is affected by numerous construction sites, for works of the Pnrr, structural funds and other financing programs – says the regional councilor for Labor, Nuccia Albano – the significant need to establish a consultation table has emerged. We have considered it appropriate to adopt a tool to focus on solutions that can guarantee better safety conditions in the construction, agriculture, manufacturing, port and logistics sectors, sectors that, as reported in the news, are the most affected by accidents at work. The Schifani government is deploying all possible tools to reverse the trend of accidents and deaths during work activities which is, unfortunately, increasing. The establishment of the table has, in fact, a function of direction and awareness, with the strategic objectives of safer employment based on the health of workers, namely culture, information and training on the work environment, quality of performance, business and development, assistance and control”.
The table, proposed by the trade unions, is composed of the Councilor for Family, Social Policies and Work, who chairs it, the Councilors for Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Productive Activities, Education and Tourism, the General Manager of the Regional Department of Labor, the Director of the Prevention Department of the Asp of Catania, the Regional Director of Inail, the Regional General Secretaries of the Trade Unions Cgil, Cisl, Uil and Ugl, the Presidents of Confindustria Sicilia, Ance Sicilia, Confesercenti Sicilia, Confcommercio Sicilia, Cna Sicilia, Confartigianato Sicilia, Confapi Sicilia, Coldiretti Sicilia, Confagricoltura Sicilia, Cia Sicilia, Legacoop Sicilia, Confcooperative Sicilia, Agci Sicilia. The table can be integrated with experts for specific topics.
