It really hit a lot of people in Terni – the first to give the news was AM Terni Television – the sudden passing of Giovanni Giannini, a well-known cardiologist from Terni, who passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 66, which he had just turned 66. The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 in the church of Santa Maria Regina (via GB Vico) in Terni.

For a long time working at the complex cardiology structure of the hospital company ‘Santa Maria’ of Terni, known by all for his professional and human qualities, Giovanni Giannini suffered an illness that, unfortunately, left him no escape. The tragedy occurred just as he was dedicating himself, with the usual scrupulousness, to one of his patients at the private practice in via Galvani, in Terni.

The news has gradually reached the many, family, friends, colleagues, who knew him, all deeply affected by the sudden and premature passing. Thus Professor Marcello Dominici, former head of cardiology at the hospital of Terni and current head of haemodynamics: «Dr. Giannini – he says emotionally – has dedicated his career to the care of patients with dedication and professionalism, contributing significantly to the growth of cardiology at the hospital of Terni. His expertise and his commitment in the field of cardiology have left a mark on our medical community. In this moment of pain – is the thought of Professor Dominici – we express our deepest condolences to Giovanni’s family and friends. His memory will continue to live in the hearts of those who had the opportunity to work with him».

The 66-year-old doctor had recently returned from vacation and, since his retirement, had been practicing freelance for Cidat. “We have lost a great man and a great professional,” says Cidat CEO Maurizio Gambino. “Giovanni has certainly contributed a lot to our growth, providing important support. The news has deeply affected us all, and just this afternoon (Tuesday, ed.) he should have been working in the clinic. We are sincerely shocked and we are close to the family’s grief.”
