Sau comes from a difficult season with Feralpisalò, which ended with relegation and without ever taking the field in the second part of the year, closed in total with 11 appearances and 1 goal in Serie B. So much so that last January his name was insistently circulated for a return to Olbia which then fell through. Sau arrived in Lombardy in the 22-23 season, when the Salodians were still participating in Serie C. However, the experience officially ended with the expiry of his contract at midnight on July 1st. Now the player born in ’87, who has put together 445 appearances and 122 goals among the professionals, finds himself at a crossroads. With Sardinia that could welcome him with open doors. No approach of the Sardinian East Coastbut a courtship of the ambitious Monastir Yes. The team led by coach Marcello Angheleddu could tempt the former Cagliari striker. Sau on the other hand is also evaluating the choice of hang up your boots and to start a different phase of their footballing and non-footballing life. There are several former Cagliari players whose future is still up in the air. First and foremost that of Simone Aresti. On one side, the possibility of continuing, on the other, that of retiring. With the second choice that would lead to a future still in the world of football, as a goalkeeping coach in the Cagliari youth sector. Otherwise, Aresti could open up to a new adventure in Sardinia (Monastir?) or outside the Island, in particular in Abruzzo (Lega Pro or high-level Serie D) for family reasons. The former rossoblù full-back Nicholas Murruinstead, saw the conclusion of his experience at Sampdoria after six seasons, interspersed with an experience at Torino in 2020-21. There are several Serie A teams after the full-back originally from Selargius – but not Cagliari – and two top-ranking teams in Serie B. Luca is instead waiting for offers from the second division Ceppitelli. After the last season spent at Feralpisalò together with Marco Sau and Christos Kourfalidis, the central defender is looking for a new project in the second division with the aim of keeping the famous nail on which to hang his boots at the end of his career empty for a few more years.
