40 km of beaches, 4 seaside destinations, a single model of tourism, slow and sustainable. Confcommercio Marche Nord presents the new guide dedicated to the seaside resorts of the Itinerary of Beauty.

The Itinerary of Beauty in the province of Pesaro Urbino, the promotional route created in 2018 by Confcommercio Marche Nord to help visitors discover the lesser-known corners of the territory, from today it is also available in the blue sign. Given that 4 of its 25 locations, namely Gabicce Mare, Pesaro, Fano e Mondolfo Marotta, are award-winning beach destinations.

To promote these blue destinations, lively and history-rich centers, comes today a new guidenamed precisely Beauty in Blue, entirely dedicated to the discovery of the 4 Adriatic locations. Whose beaches boast For several years both the Blue Flag of the Fee (Foundation for Environmental Education) and the Green Flag have been awarded, the recognition of over 2000 Italian and foreign pediatricians for the beaches most suitable for children.

The guide was presented at the Confcommercio in Fano.

“The idea for this new guide was born from the observation that the majority of tourist presences in the province of Pesaro and Urbino come from the seaside sector”, has explained Amerigo Varotti, director of Confcommercio Marche Nord. “In particular, the presences are concentrated in Gabicce Mare, Pesaro, Fano and Mondolfo Marotta and that is in the four locations on the Adriatic coast that are part of the Itinerary. However, an ad hoc publication had never been created, to be distributed at fairs and IAT offices, that brought all four together. In short, a tool was missing that promoted the seaside offerings of our territory. This year Confcommercio Marche Nord has therefore decided to fill this gap, creating a handy 24-page guide, a true spin-off in blue of the Itinerary of Beauty”.

He continued the Vice President of Confcommercio Barbara Marcolini: “It is yet another initiative to promote and enhance tourism within the Itinerary of Beauty. It is the guide that was missing, a very important Itinerary dedicated to one of the main ‘attractions’ of our territory. We are truly proud to realize these projects, fundamental for tourism and economic development”.

A highly appreciated guide by general secretary from the Marche Chamber of Commerce Fabrizio Schiavoni: “The Itineraries that Confcommercio has been creating for years are an invaluable tool for promoting our beautiful territory that we support with conviction”.

Thus Beauty touches the sea at Gabicce2 km of golden sand that unfolds to the northern slopes of the Mount San Bartolothe only promontory between Trieste and Conero, a regional park since 1994. A green enclave that allows you to enjoy, along with dives in crystal-clear waters on family-friendly beaches, also bike excursions and trekking along the numerous, shaded, paths with breathtaking views. Among the many summer happenings scheduled in the town (which in 2020 launched the Gabicce Maremonte brand to enhance its hinterland) is also the event Tourism in celebration (4-5-6-7 July and 3-4-5-6 August) with concerts and tributes to the greats of music.

But the cliffs of Colle San Bartolo, with its wooded areas sloping down to the sea, also dominate Pesaro, of which Colle is the sixth, very green district.

In addition to its role as provincial capital and Capital of Culture 2024, Pesaro also combines that of a seaside city, with over 7 km of soft, quiet beaches (distributed between the areas of Baia Flaminia, Ponente and Levante), all reachable by bike: because this is one of the most cycle-friendly cities in Italy.

And right on the sea, with the event of August 10th Candles under the starsnow in its tenth edition, Pesaro celebrates the night of San Lorenzo: lighting thousands of flames on the beach and on the water, with music, aperitifs and dinners with a white dress code.

The Adriatic meets Beauty also in Fanothe ancient Fanum Fortune of the Romans, a hub of the Via Flaminia and an ancient navy of the Adriatic. And here, in the third city of the Marche, a seaside holiday is combined with an artistic one: since Fano boasts a delightful historic center, churches – treasure chests such as Santa Maria Nuova, with works by Perugino inside, and a rich Civic Museum. Beautiful El Gugul, the characteristic fishermen’s quarter, the Molo dei trabucchi and the beaches of Turrets and Saxony (so called for its expanse of pebbles) perfectly equipped even for the little ones.

A great welcome also for four-legged friends, for whom there is also a special establishment, the Animalido Dog Beach.

Among the many events, it is worth mentioning the Fano of the Caesars (11-14 July) reenactment of the Roman origins of the city, and the Fano jazz by the sea (20-28 July). And to celebrate its indissoluble bond with the Adriatic, Fano is also launching this year the Sea Festivalscheduled for August 3rd to 4th, in honor of its fishermen and its seafaring DNA.

Among the seaside destinations of the Confcommercio Marche Nord Itinerary also Mondolfo, the most beautiful village in Italy, whose seaside hamlet, Marottais today a charming tourist resort. So charming that it inspired Enrico Ruggeri to write his famous “Il mare d’inverno”. With 10 km of uninterrupted beaches, well divided between equipped and free (here too there are areas for four-legged friends), with sloping seabeds, ideal even for inexperienced swimmers, Marotta is a true oasis of tranquility. Where you can relax by pedaling along the cycle path of the characteristic Mosaici seafront. But also by chatting with the old sailors of the place, for example at the El Croc club.

Don’t miss the Feast of the Traffic (19-20-21 July), historical reenactment of this particular type of fishing.

In short, 4 charming coastal locations to appreciate the blue soul of the province.

“Coves, ravines, pebbly and sandy shores, tourist ports, a green promontory overlooking the sea, free and equipped beaches: in 40 km we have all the types of coast typical of our country”, concluded director Varotti. “From which it is possible in just 15 km to go up the hill and discover intact medieval villages, artistic masterpieces and typical food and wine. Ours is a unique tourist offer, which goes beyond the mere seaside proposal, dedicated to curious and attentive visitors. The fact that the 4 blue municipalities are part of the Itinerary of Beauty circuit allows us today to create integrated communication, never experienced before”.

The numbers speak clearly once again. Because according to the data of the Tourist Movement in the accommodation establishments of the Marche Region, in 2023 the province of Pesaro and Urbino recorded a total of 3,314,256 presences (with a +3.59% compared to 2022) and 693,506 arrivals (+2.26% on 2022), thus resulting in the first in the Marche region in terms of tourist presence.

A promotional formula, that of the itinerary, which has proven to be absolutely successful over time.

What did he see? 4 new locations will join the circuit this year and that is Waterloothe very famous truffle capital, and Borgo Pacea small mountain town on the extreme border between Tuscany and Umbria, dominated, in the hamlet of Lamoli, by the Romanesque Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo. Together with Macerata Feltriawhich arose from the ruins of the ancient Pitinum and today the most beautiful village in Italy, and Carpegna, green lung of Montefeltro and first Transparent Flag for purity and healthiness of the air. Centers with which it has associated, in last minute mode, Monte Grimano Spa, another most beautiful village in Italy, with a spiral urban layout guarding the Conca Valley, on the border with San Marino.

Beauty 2024, from the north to the south of the province, thus reaches 25. Because the new entries are added to the 20 locations that have gradually joined the project in these seven years. That is Apecchio, Cagli, Cantiano, Colli al Metauro, Fano, Fossombrone, Gabicce Mare, Gradara, Mondavio, Pergola, San Lorenzo in Campo, Sassocorvaro Auditore, Roveresche Lands, Cartoceto, Piano Island, Mondolfo Marotta, Mombaroccio, Piobbico, up to the most famous ones Pesaro e Urbino.

The new guide is available at the IAT offices of the province, on the free app and on the website confcommerciomarchenord.it
