The Festa dell’Unità of Bologna, surprisingly, will be held at Parco Nord again this year. It should have moved due to the work on the motorway bypass but, given the delays in the work, from 29 August to 22 September, it will once again host the people of the Democratic Party. The move will take place but in 2025 and will be, as announced by the Democratic Party of Bologna in a press conference, at the Caserme Rosse in via di Corticella, giving the party a lot to solve some problems of the new location such as parking. In addition to the provincial secretary, Federica Mazzoni, the person in charge of the Festa, Lele Roveri and, in connection, Pier Luigi Bersani, testimonial of the Festa dell’Unità of Bologna, will present the news. Bologna could also be chosen to host the national festival. “We would like it” admits Roveri. “This year’s Festa dell’Unità will be held again at Parco Nord because the work on the Passante by Autostrade has not yet started – explains Mazzoni -. We are working on finding a new home and next year we will move to Caserme Rosse to give new life to the Festa dell’Unità”. “Parco Nord is a very good choice for the life of our party – continues Mazzoni – because we have improved the formula. I am thinking of the economic balance achieved by the Festa dell’Unità which is a self-financing event made possible also thanks to the many volunteers who have joined”. And on July 10, the Provincial Directorate is expected, with the possible showdown after the defeat of the historic strongholds of Pianoro and Castelmaggiore, anticipated by the discontent reported by the vice secretary Matteo Meogrossi. Mazzoni, however, does not intend to indulge divisions. The Directorate – he explains – had been announced and convened before the administrative run-offs because in a serious party, and we are, the problems, the critical issues but also the analysis of the victories must be examined, because this is what we are talking about. The PD returning to over 40% in the entire metropolitan area is an extraordinary result. Even in the Municipalities where we won – reassures Mazzoni – the consensus has increased a lot both in terms of percentages and real votes. We also won again in Municipalities in the Apennines and in the Bassa where we did not expect it. This result must be analyzed well – he adds – and precisely for this reason I had already foreseen a directorate because in the appropriate places we talk about the problems”. “We are stubbornly united – adds Mazzoni and invites us to stick to reality”. As for the criticisms of the deputy provincial secretary of the PD, Matteo Meogrossi, regarding the defeats in the Municipalities of Pianoro and Castel Maggiore by civic lists, Mazzoni limits himself to saying that “it will be discussed in the appropriate places and that is what everyone should do”.
