For the second consecutive year, Rossella Fasulo, president of the Regional Order of Chemists and Physicists of Campania, was reconfirmed as President of the Lions Club Napoli Host with unanimous consent. The official ceremony, on July 2nd at the Circolo Posillipo in Naples, included the presentation of the new Board of Directors, the entry of 6 new members and the delivery of 4 “Friend of Melvin Jones” honors, the highest recognition of Lions International, to members who have distinguished themselves in their ability to “Serve others”.

An event “full of initiatives – reads the press release – including the charitable opportunity to continue the fundraising for the International Foundation LCIF and which, with pride, institutionally opens the social year of Governor Tommaso Di Napoli. The Lions Club Naples (subsequently became Host in 1978) – it is recalled – is the oldest club in the District and the second Italian Club, which in 72 years has given 4 illustrious Governors and two Presidents of the Republic: His Excellency Enrico De Nicola and Giovanni Leone”.

“A point of reference for the District – continues the note from the association – the Club in the last year has focused its activity on the defense of the environment and on the support of young university students, in particular through the prestigious partnerships with the Federico II University of Naples, with other Campania universities and with public bodies. Furthermore, it has increased civil commitment and the promotion of art and culture. In particular, under the year of Fasulo’s presidency, thanks to the dedication of his wife and member of Napoli Host Angelina Parisi Imparato, the first edition of the “Giovanni Parisi” Award was held to honor the memory of the member and Neapolitan scientist, who awarded a scholarship to a graduate in Chemistry from Federico II”.

And again: “The attention paid to the environment, instead, has found ample treatment this year in a series of scientific dissemination events entitled “Zero Waste” open to all and currently still accessible, which has reached professionals and all schools nationwide, thanks to the fruitful collaboration established with national school offices. In the context of cultural activities, particular emphasis was given to the Church of SS. Annunziata in Naples, to which District 108Ya, led by the Club Napoli Host, has donated sophisticated audio equipment to improve the events that take place inside the structure. Furthermore, among the proposals that demonstrate the Club’s civil commitment, there is a project financed by the International Foundation LCIF, of which Member Grazia Salerno is district coordinator, to support the association “La Tenda”, a project already approved by District 108Ya and awaiting final ratification by the American headquarters. Finally, the Lions Club Napoli Host has continued to keep food collections and the service for the homeless active, working alongside volunteers to prepare and distribute hot meals and the initiatives “The suspended backpack” and “the peace poster” and “The delivery of the Epiphany stocking” aimed, among others, at the less fortunate children of the Don Guanella institute in Naples”

. “I thank all the Members for their commitment in the social year just ended – said President Fasulo – A year that was humanly difficult personally, which taught me painful aspects of life and, at the same time, the ability to overcome them. Starting from the areas highlighted by Lions International, the year that ended was a year of great Lionistic successes, of constant commitment in applying a broad-vision strategy aimed at the creation of 65 services, through which we provided our contribution to civil society”.
