The Rossoneri have made Abate’s successor official. The Tuscan coach’s first words to the club’s official channels: “It’s a great pride to be here, I really want to start this magnificent journey”.
The news was in the air and now it’s official: Federico Guidi is the new coach of Milan’s Primavera. The successor to Ignazio Abate, has tied himself to the Rossoneri colors with a multi-year agreement. The club announced it, with a note on its official channels.

“Milan is a strong emotion for me. I don’t hide the fact that I’ve been a fan since I was a little boy. Arriving here at Casa Milan and seeing so many photos, these colors that have accompanied me in my childhood and adolescence was something truly special for me. I would struggle to find the right words to describe what I’m feeling right now. It’s a source of great pride to be called by a prestigious club at a world level like Milan. So I’m also aware of the great responsibilities that I’m taking on. There’s great happiness, now it’s a whirlwind of emotions but at the same time there’s a great desire to begin this magnificent journey.”
Who is Federico Guidi?

Born in Florence on 23 December 1976, Guidi became a professional coach in 2009. He is a coach with an important CV: his career has developed mainly in the youth sectors, starting in Empoli with the Giovanissimi B Professionisti, up to the Giovanissimi Nazionali. In the 2005-2006 season he arrived at Fiorentina, specifically on the bench of the Giovanissimi B Professionisti. Always at Viola from 2014 to 2017 he coached the Primavera team, before moving to the Under 20 national team. After having spent a period also in the Under 19, the doors of the big football opened for Guidi: Gubbio, Casertana and Teramo in Serie C. Finally, the experience at Roma Primavera lasted two years: for him a Supercoppa and a Coppa Italia.

Federico Guidi is used to derbies: last season he was involved in the one in Rome against Lazio. For him a 3-2 victory in the semi-final of the championship, with an away defeat (1-0) and a draw (0-0) at home in the championship. Now another highly felt derby: that of the Madonnina.
