PESCARA – It will be presented Thursday 4th July at 11:00, in the Sala D’Ascanio of the Abruzzo regionthe project Abruzzo Welcome.
In the presence of the vice president of the Abruzzo Region with responsibility for agriculture Emanuele Imprudente and the Undersecretary with responsibility for Tourism Daniele D’Amario, Rino Talucci president of the Local Action Group Abruzzo Italico Alto Sangro, leader of Abruzzo Welcome, will talk about the project promoted in collaboration with the GAL Terre Pescaresi and Terre d’Abruzzo as part of the PSR 2014 – 2022 Abruzzo.
The initiative aims to attract tourists to Abruzzo during periods of lower tourist flow with the aim of enhancing the offer of green and sustainable tourism in the internal areas.
A unique initiative that offers a free experiences for tourists who stay at least one night in the territory of relevance of the Local Action Groups.
Following will be Domenico Francomano, director of GAL, with a speech on the technical aspects of the initiative and Francesco Di Filippo, director of the Local Development and Fisheries Economy Service of the Abruzzo region who will explain the context in which the project was born.
Welcome Abruzzo It also wants to integrate local production chains into the tourist offer, making them more attractive and responsive to the needs of tourists, improving the quality of the holiday and reducing the environmental impact through:
- the valorization of local resources less known to the people of the Argonauts;
- the extension of periods of tourist presence;
- the distribution of visitor flows;
promoting more sustainable tourism without neglecting the valorization of Abruzzo’s environmental, architectural and food and wine resources.
Thus, from 1 July to 30 September 2024, with the exception of August, tourists will be able to enjoy outdoor activities – walks, excursions, trekking, theme parks, bike tours, horseback riding, canoeing, as well as experiences linked to local traditions, agri-food production and typical crafts.
