“Milan and Inter are thinking, I want to speed up”

Joseph Sala, Mayor of Milan, spoke to the microphones of the media present, including CalcioeFinanza.it, on the sidelines of today’s City Council, to respond to the doubts raised by the city’s architects’ association regarding the procedures used by himself for the feasibility study of the project San Siro renovation signed by WeBuild, presented a few days ago at Palazzo Marino: This position seems premature to me. It depends on who will carry out the work, until this is known it seems to me a very theoretical position”.

Are new official meetings possible soon with Inter and Milan to better define the situation?
“I don’t know if there will be other opportunities. I know that the companies are looking at the project and are thinking about the money, maintaining direct contact with WeBuild. I would like to speed up, but I can’t say that there will be any news this week”.

The target
The plan, from what has filtered out so far, includes the redevelopment of the facilities in three years of work, during which the capacity will be reduced but in a limited way, as much as possible. It was the main request of the clubs, who at the moment are taking their time and want to study the idea, and at least it has been taken into great consideration. It should proceed in sectors, in order to avoid relocations and above all minimize the drop in ticket sales, which in recent seasons has ensured both clubs very respectable numbers even in the European panorama.
