Cremo, many operations in sight to reshape the squad

The bell of the summer transfer market has rung and a couple of days could be enough for Cremonese’s first moves. The number one suspect to join mister Stroppa’s class is Jari Vandeputte. The Belgian winger who finished last season in Serie B in Catanzaro in double figures, both in terms of goals and assists, will sit among the first benches of a classroom that is currently very crowded (over 40 members), which the sports director Simone Giacchetta will have to start thinning out to accommodate other arrivals.

Like goalkeeper Andrea Fulignati, promoted with flying colors as the best saver in Serie B and Catanzaro’s top playmaker. Mattia Felici, the winger who plowed Zini into the sensational sack of Feralpisalò, is the third name closest to Cremona. While for the bomber chapter, the most anticipated by the fans, we will have to wait. The prized pieces have complicated negotiations: just think of Massimo Coda’s return to Cremo, signed on August 27th almost at the curtain of the summer transfer window. The bomber from Cava de’ Tirreni is not at the top of Stroppa’s wish list.

The Grigiorossi have just said goodbye to a striker with experience and dedication: Daniel Ciofani. DC9’s contract is expiring, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a farewell. There will certainly be decisive meetings in the next few days, to understand the player’s will and Cremo’s possible availability to welcome him back. Among the other big names with more experience, there is one who has entered the market: Michele Castagnetti is liked by William Viali’s Reggiana, a club that would mean a return home for the left-footed midfielder.

The midfielder is under contract with Cremo but with a view to rejuvenating the squad (Giacchetta’s words) and renewing the team, he could be a player with great appeal. For a market that will soon start the domino effect in Serie B, there are other calendars that are gradually being defined: July 11 is the day of the grey-red gathering at the Arvedi center, while to see the first versions of Stroppa’s new Cremo the management is working to schedule at least three friendlies in Pinzolo. Also being considered is the opportunity for a jog near home after ten days of work in via Postumia.
