Following the passage of the Tour de France through Bologna and the excellent public order service organised by the Police Headquarters, also by virtue of the absence of the Local Police who were legitimately on strike, the Provincial Secretary of the SAP Bologna Tonino Guglielmi in a letter addressed to the Police Commissioner Dr. Sbordone he praised his colleagues employed in the service for the entire duration of the stage of the cycling race: “We would like to express our compliments for having identified a control room capable of directing and supervising an event of this magnitude. The contribution of all colleagues who served along the entire route was commendable, especially in relation to the high temperatures and the lack of shelter from the sun. The availability shown also in relation to the local police strike, which, although legitimate and respectable, risked compromising various aspects related to the event, cannot be underestimated. This is why we feel it is right and respectful to ask that all colleagues involved in services connected to the tour can receive an award regardless of their qualifications.”.
On the same days, 59 newly assigned colleagues took up service and the SAP, as repeatedly raised, brings the housing problem to everyone’s attention: a major limitation that has repercussions on the professionalism that citizens need first, as there are no permanently present operators in the area.
