The Sanctuary of the Madonna del Carmine, located in the square of the same name in Ragusa, is at the center of the celebrations in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, which began yesterday. The fortnight in honor of the Virgin began with the recitation of the joys and the singing of the Litany of Loreto, followed by the Holy Mass presided over by Father Ramiro Casale, general delegate for the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites. In the evening, the statue of the Madonna was welcomed into the sanctuary and the Rosary was recited in Piazza Carmine, led by the friars.
Today, dedicated to Mary, Mother of Divine Grace, the program includes at 6:00 pm the recitation of the joys to the Madonna del Carmine and the singing of the Litany of Loreto, followed at 6:30 pm by the Holy Mass presided over by Don Giuseppe Iacono, with the participation of the parish community of San Giovanni Maria Vianney of Ragusa. At 9:00 pm, the recitation of the Rosary in Piazza Carmine.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the feast of St. Thomas, the day will follow a similar program with the Holy Mass at 6:30 pm presided over by Don Luigi Diquattro and animated by the parish communities of the Santissimo Salvatore and the Guardian Angel.
Thursday, July 4, dedicated to the Virgin Mary Servant of the Lord, at 6:00 pm there will be the recitation of the joys and the singing of the Litany of Loreto, followed at 6:30 pm by the Holy Mass presided over by Don Nicola Iudica, with the participation of the parish community of San Francesco d’Assisi.
Friday, July 5, dedicated to the Virgin Mary Seat of Wisdom, the program includes the usual prayers and the Holy Mass at 6:30 pm presided over by Father Luca Bonomo OFM Cap, with the participation of the parish community of the Holy Family. At 9:00 pm, a prayer vigil will be held in Piazza Carmine animated by the community “Eccomi manda me” of Ragusa.
The culmination of the celebrations will be the external procession with the statue of the Madonna, scheduled for Sunday 14 July.
