With a past in the Biancoceleste Primavera, Antony Iannarilli, born in 1998, seemed destined to become the future goalkeeper of Lazio. After a few loans in the lower leagues, he played for Gubbio, Pavia and Pistoiese, before spending two seasons as a protagonist at Viterbese. He then moved to Fere, contributing to the direct promotion to Serie B, but this year he lost the playout final against Bari, relegating to Lega Pro. Despite a less than brilliant season for his former team, Iannarilli demonstrated all his qualities and was certainly one of the positive notes of Fere. From today we can consider him a new player of Avellino, after completing the medical visits at Villa Stuart.

It’s a new beginning for him and for Avellino, with mister Pazienza who can boast the arrival of an expert goalkeeper like him. Iannarilli is a fighter who has adapted perfectly to all the teams he has played for, so much so that he had his spleen removed on February 24, 2013 following a collision during a Second Division match that ended 0-0 against Borgo a Buggiano. Standing 186 cm tall and with an average weight of 82 kg, his favorite foot is his right. His characteristics also include determination and strength in exiting the penalty area, which give security to the defensive line.

Who is Leonardo Marson?

Another signing between the posts is Leonardo Marson. Originally from Friuli and born in Udine on January 5, 1998, he moved to Sicily at just sixteen years old to play in the Palermo youth team, later making his debut with the Primavera before moving to Sassuolo in the 2017-18 season. His professional debut took place in Olbia, where in the 2018-19 season he made 17 appearances in the Serie C championship. He then moved to Cesena for the following season, despite a troubled start due to a knee injury that kept him out for a period.

The following November, Marson managed to earn a starting spot, but the season was interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic at the end of February. In the 2020-21 season he landed at Vibonese in Calabria, where after an up-and-down start he became a starter in November, finishing the season with 22 appearances. The following season, still with Vibonese in Serie C, Marson alternated the role with the other goalkeeper Mengoni, totaling 15 appearances as a starter, concentrated mainly in the winter months.

In 2022-23, Marson joins Cosenza, initially as a reserve for Matosevic. However, due to the disappointing performances of the Slovenian goalkeeper, Marson establishes himself as a starter already from the last match of October, defending the goal for nine consecutive games before the arrival of Micai in January. Now a new adventure in green and white begins for him. Avellino, certainly, wants to strengthen a department that was under accusation last season.
