A beautiful office in Florence

400 square meters make room for teamwork. Thus, in the city of art located in the heart of Italy – Firenze it goes without saying – the team of AFSa (Antonio Acocella, Pietro Seghi) has renovated the headquarters of Monogrid. Where once there was a mattress factory, on Via Vittorio Emanuele II, today there is the base of a creative agency that inhabits “an environment characterized by a lively color palette and the use of multiple materials”, as described by the studio. In a place where inventiveness embraces the most up-to-date principles of the technological sector, the designers were able to leave the artisanal legacy of the address. And the result is a theater where the work areas are defined by color.

From the entrance to the ergonomic chairs, the walk leads first to a flight of stairs; then, into a recreational space: a central point both from a functional and distributional point of view. And the frame is all blue. But the designers wanted to create (also) a game of see-through through a series of circular openings, which connect the sections of the office. Mirrored surfaces, microcement and glossy effects are three of the expedients chosen to materialize a series of diversions for the view: small diversions that the world of architecture can reserve in spaces that require concentration. And then there is the light. In the offices, different in volume and size, the sun at its zenith enters from outside to inside, crossing the roof. It then rests on the carpeted floor, brushing the iron furnishings and bouncing on their metal body. This luminous match aims to stimulate productivity and make room for well-being.
