REGGIO EMILIA – A driver was caught by the Carabinieri of the Reggio Emilia company while driving a vehicle after excessive use of alcoholic beverages: the Carabinieri withdrew his driving license and proceeded with the sanctions provided for by law. Six people were found in possession of narcotics and now risk the suspension of their driving license and travel documents. This is the result of the road checks carried out over the weekend in the province of Reggio Emilia by the Carabinieri of the Reggio Emilia Company with the aim of ensuring greater safety on the main roads.
On the busiest roads
In total, the Carabinieri checked 120 people and 90 vehicles and motorcycles at checkpoints and checkpoints carried out on the busiest roads, where they also proceeded to issue several traffic violations, mainly for violations of road safety regulations.
Small amounts of drugs
In particular, the Carabinieri of the Reggio Emilia company checked drivers and pedestrians (a 24-year-old resident of Reggio Emilia, a 32-year-old, a 22-year-old, a 23-year-old and a 24-year-old all resident in Scandiano, a 29-year-old resident in Formigine, were found in possession of small quantities of drugs (overall over 10 grams of hashish, approximately 2 grams of cocaine, and over 2 grams of marijuana): since this is possession for personal non-therapeutic use, the 6 people will be reported to the Prefecture of Reggio Emilia which, on the basis of the report drawn up by the Carabinieri, will be able to withdraw their driving and travel documents for suspension.
