Yesterday afternoon, the men of the Flying Squad of the Viterbo Police Headquarters executed a custodial order issued by the GIP of Viterbo against a twenty-six-year-old of Egyptian origins who was responsible for the robbery of a Chinese citizen.
The event took place last May when, in via Falcone e Borsellino, near the Palace of Justice in Viterbo, the victim was hit in the chest by the young Egyptian who tore off the gold chain he was wearing around his neck, threatening him with a stick.
The State Police investigators, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Viterbo, have meticulously reconstructed the phases of the robbery, also making use of the public and private video surveillance systems present in the area.
On the basis of the evidence highlighted, the GIP of Viterbo issued the Order with which he ordered the precautionary custody of the Egyptian at the penal institution of Viterbo, where he was already detained following a previous arrest carried out by the Flying Squad of the State Police.
On that occasion the man had been arrested for another robbery carried out inside a hotel a few days after the one for which the custody order was issued.
